Water-system valves operate through pump starts, changing demand and long periods of immersion or stagnation. DN and PN alone do not define a safe purchase. Water chemistry, surge conditions, body and trim materials, coating, elastomer compatibility, actuator timing and maintenance access must be evaluated together.
Operating context
Potable, process, wastewater and seawater duties require different material and documentation routes.
Pump trip and check-valve closure can govern the pressure transient; valve dynamics should be consistent with the surge analysis.
Large-DN valves require lifting points, structural support, actuator torque and safe access for seat or stem maintenance.
